Serial Numbers enable Accuracy and Traceability
The S/N is encoded in RFID and Barcode formats
The only way to achieve near 100% inventory accuracy is by assigning a serial number to each inventory unit, and using the serial number to track items at a granular level.
SPEDE Raw Material uses serial numbers to:
- error-proof material handling transactions by preventing the wrong material from being picked or issued, ensure that legitimate transactions are recorded, and prevent the duplication of transactions
- create Lot / Serial traceability records as a by-product of scanning inventory transactions.
The SPEDE system assigns a serial number when a label is printed, and retains a detailed real-time database of all labels (which represent your current inventory), and a history of all events (i.e. transactions) recorded for each serial number, which can be mined for traceability and analysis purposes.
