Line-side Labeler is a real-time solution for printing labels in the work cell. It prevents labeling mistakes by virtually eliminating human intervention in both the label set-up and label-printing processes.

How it Works:

A Line-side Labeler terminal installed in the work cell functions as a wireless bridge between the production machine, the label printer in that cell, and our SPEDE Line-side Labeling software that resides on a network server. The SPEDE software interfaces to host computer systems to get label data real-time.

When the production machine is set-up to make a new part, Line-side Labeler can be configured to print the correct label for that part. The LCD panel on Line-side Labeler displays the part number, quantity of labels printed so far, and pack count for the part it is configured for. To print a label, the operator simply touches the LCD panel. The correct label will print, using real-time information from your host system.

For even more control over your labeling process, Line-side Labeler can be interfaced to the production machine via a PLC connected to its serial port. When the PLC detects that a good part is made, it sends a signal to the Line-side Labeler which tallies the good parts. When a pack count is reached, Line-side Labeler triggers a label to print automatically, and the operator applies it to the container of parts.
