Line-side Label Validation Solution

Error-proof your current batch-printing process -- and eliminate the risk of mis-labeling Parts

If you use a centralized label-printing process in which batches of labels for multiple Part Numbers are pre-printed in a central location, and then distributed to various production lines and plant sites --you're running the risk of mis-labeling hundreds or thousands of parts, should the wrong labels be delivered to a line and then applied.

The SPEDE Line-side Label Validation solution is a simple and 100% accurate way to ensure that every pre-printed label is correct before it is applied to the container of parts..

Using a Symbol MK500 RF terminal installed at line-side, and connected to your 802.11 network, the SPEDE Label Validation solution:

  • Scans the serial number on the pre-printed label
  • Checks the SPEDE Label Validation File to see if the label is correct for this production line
  • Displays a Green "OK" screen if the label is correct for this line
  • Displays a Red "ERROR" screen with an audible alert if the label is wrong

The SPEDE Label Validation software runs on a PC server connected to your wireless network.

Upgradeable to Line-side Label Printing

Do you want to print labels on-demand at some - or all - of your production lines? You can upgrade your Label Validation solution to the SPEDE Line-side Labeler solution.

The same MK500 terminal that you use for Label Validation can connect to a label printer at line-side, via RF or serial port. You can then set-up the MK500 to allow only the label for a specified Part Number to be printed. When a label is needed, the operator simply touches the MK500 screen and the correct label prints automatically.

Connects to a PLC Too - The MK500 can also connect to a PLC to trigger a label to print automatically when a pack count of good parts has been made.
